Carroll School- Gatehouse Building
Lincoln, MA

ARCHITECT: DSK Architects | SIZE: 6,500 SF
Description
We worked with Carroll School to renovate their gatehouse, originally built in 1906 and previously used as a horse and carriage stable, automotive garage, repair shop, and coachman’s dwelling.
The Gatehouse underwent a major interior renovation of the first floor to create classrooms, a maker space, and an innovation center.
Due to the age of the building, accurate structural drawings were not provided. We worked with the design team to develop creative solutions to achieve the architect’s design intent. The Gatehouse now houses art rooms, digital studios, and fabrication labs that further emphasize Carroll School’s vision and gives the teachers the means to bring out the full potential of their students.
